Frequently Asked Questions

When is Back to Basics this year?

Back to Basics kicks off with a virtual keynote and virtual workshops Saturday, January 22, 2022. In-person workshops will be offered weekday evenings between January 24 and February 25. An outdoor Spring Fair happens Saturday, May 21.

Where is Back to Basics?

The virtual keynote and workshops will be accessed through a registration link. That link will give participants access to the workshops and keynote between January 22 and February 6 to view at their leisure at any time during that period.  Evening in-person workshops will be held at the Pine River-Backus Schools, 401 Murray Avenue, Pine River, MN 56474. The outdoor Spring Fair will take place at the Lakes Music & Events Park in Pine River.

Do I have to register ahead of time?

For the virtual keynote, you do not need to register. You can view the keynote live on Happy Dancing Turtle's Facebook page at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 22. If you have registered for in-person or virtual workshops before the January 22 keynote,  you will also be sent a Zoom link for the keynote.

To view the virtual workshops you must register by noon on Wednesday, February 2. To attend in-person workshops, you must register by noon one day prior to the date of a given workshop, assuming space is still available. The Participant Information page will give you all the details and links.  To attend the outdoor Spring Fair, you do not need to register in advance--simply show up and enjoy!

Can I attend part of a day or register more than once?

Yes! Each type of workshop will have its own registration deadline. You can register for the in-person workshops right up to the date the workshop is offered, as long as space is available.   If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

How can I help spread the word (Refer-A-Friend)?

Refer-A-Friend to Back to Basics and both of you will be entered in a drawing to win one of two prizes. To get entered in the drawing: 1) Tell all your family & friends about B2B. 2) When they register, have them put your name in the "referred by" box. 3) We'll enter BOTH of your names for a chance to win! The more people you refer, the better your chances! Read more about Refer-A-Friend here.

Is there an option for kids?

Outdoor activities for kids will be part of the outdoor Spring Fair on Saturday, May 21.

I am presenting a workshop or vending at the Spring Fair. Where can I find more information about what is needed of me?

Please make sure to read through our Presenter Guidelines and/or our Vendor/Exhibitor Guidelines.
