2021 Summer Programming

With all of the uncertainty and changes of the past year, Happy Dancing Turtle is excited to announce a return to some in-person programming!

Last summer, with the health and safety of our staff and program participants at the top of mind, Eco Camp went all virtual. In addition, we provided themed kits for families to purchase that included crafts as well as indoor and outdoor activities to keep kids engaged in nature and sustainability, and a Facebook group that featured daily activities and storytimes.

This summer, Eco Camp will be back in person! Everyone is ready to start a return to normal and we are excited to have campers on campus again. The health and safety of our campers is always our top priority, so while we are back in person there will be changes and new policies/procedures in place to ensure that. One of those changes includes even more time spent outside. Over the past year, we have been working on our outdoor classroom and are excited to utilize it more during Eco Camp.

The theme for camp this year is “Branch Out at Eco Camp” with a focus on trees, in particular birch, maple, and oak trees. Campers will learn about these trees as well as other aspects of nature and sustainability through games, crafts, lessons, stories, and more. One of the favorite days at camp is spent at the lake, learning about aquatic environments, swimming, and kayaking.

Registration for Eco Camp is open! The schedule is:

Grades 1 & 2: Mighty Maples - June 21st - 25th

Grades 3 & 4: Outstanding Oaks - July 19th - 23rd

Grades 5 & 6: Brilliant Birches - August 2nd - 6th

Rather than holding a camp session for kiddos entering PreK and Kindergarten, this summer there will be a special session of Tiny Turtles, our school year PreK program. Tiny Turtles will continue to meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays in June, July, and August. This class meets entirely outside, spending time in the outdoor classroom and exploring different aspects of the garden. For more information and registration, click here.
