Earlier this December, we hosted our annual Grateful Gathering and Bites Bar & Grill, just south of Pine River. It’s a moment where we pause before the busy holiday season and take the time to reflect on the past year and ponder the future. There are options for how to handle the overabundance that is likely pushing against your fridge door’s capability to seal (or is this just my fridge?). Eat right now, eat soon, or preserve/prepare for later consumption, or find a new home – these are the options we’ll be addressing.

2018 was designated the Year of the Bird by the National Audubon Society, so Birds of a Feather seemed like a natural theme for this year’s Eco Camp. With August now upon us, we have just one camp left. Our first three camps were a huge success and so much fun was had by all! There are favorite activities that we do every year with each group.

Entire schools, and communities across the nation participate in Screen Free Week, endeavoring to not use any screens during non school and work hours. No smart phones, no video games, no TV, no computers, no screens of any kind

Looking back at a summer of eco camp.

Three of our four 2017 Freshwater Friends Eco Camps are in the books. Our campers have ventured on field trips, eaten straight from the garden, and learned a bit about our environment.
