Hummus2 cans garbanzo beans, drained
1/3 cup olive oil 1/3 cup lemon juice 1/4 cup tahini 1 clove garlic 1 tsp salt Optional: 1/2 tsp cumin, and/or a bit of cayenne pepper, to taste Put it all in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth (it's a little stiff for a blender and needs to be helped out by stirring occasionally - with the blender off of course!)
Roasted red peppers, basil lemon pepper, black beans, spinach and feta, kalamata olives, peanut butter, and sun-dried tomatoes all make for interesting additions and/or alterations to your hummus!
Sprinkle red pepper flakes or paprika over hummus before serving to liven it up!
