Hooray! Year One Healthy Green Communities Harvest Celebration
When: Friday September 17, 2010 6:30-8:00p.m. Where: 3rd & Barclay, following Pine River Market Square (2:30-6:30p.m.) Fee: Free will donation to support future projects
Join us as we celebrate successes (community garden creation, neighborhood energy workshop, etc.) and look ahead at goals for the next year. We want your input, ideas, and suggestions. Turkey, rolls, salad, and a beverage will be supplied. Please bring a potluck item to share. Invite your friends!

Learn about trees, birds, and bugs in our school forest. Discover the secrets of the forest ecosystem. Snack provided.

Beginner Mushroom Cultivation
When: Tuesday September 28, 2010 6:00-7:00p.m. Where: Hunt Utilities Group Campus, Hwy 2 West of Pine River Who: Adults-ages 15 & up Fee: $10 per person Limit: 20
Learn the exciting art of growing mushrooms on waste products. Shitake, Wine Cap and Oyster mushroom cultivation techniques will all be discussed. Learn how to use a different level in your yard and garden. This class will prepare you for a fruitful coming year with some skills to be tried out immediately. Everyone in this class will leave with an oyster mushroom box.

Have you heard about the HGCP task forces (GreenSteps, Food, Community Garden & Dam Park)? Wondering what the GreenStep program is about? Is our community "GreenStep" designated? What's happening with the Dam Park? How did the Community Garden go in year one? Have questions about the different task forces and projects that came from the June HGCP Visioning? Just want an update? Quinn Swanson and other task force co-chairs will share with you what's happened so far, what's up next and how you can help.
