With a BA in Environment Studies and minor in art, Quinn fit right in with the HUG/HDT crew when she joined in May 2004. In her current role, she works with the community and like-minded organizations to further leverage and represent the HUG Resilient Living Campus throughout the region and state. In her spare time, Quinn enjoys making art of all kinds in virtually every sort of media.

Bob has worked with the founders of Happy Dancing Turtle, Paul & Lynn Hunt, since 1998.  First as head of Hunt Technologies Sales and Marketing and now as Chief Operating Officer of Hunt Utilities Group LLC. Over 30 years ago he started his career at West Publishing serving in a variety of roles and progressing to Director of Market Development for their national online system, WESTLAW.
A healthy vibrant community is important to Bob and he actively volunteers with numerous committees and boards including the Resilient Region Initiative, Rotary International, Essentia Health, and various Community & Business Advisory Boards. An advocate of lifelong learning, he has organized and/or participated in numerous forums on Business and Finance. Academically, his undergraduate degree is in Business from St. John’s University and his MBA is from The University of St. Thomas.
Bob, his wife, and four boys enjoy the lake region of Minnesota and its wonderful quality of life.

Michelle joined the team as the program assistant in May 2010.  In her role, Michelle provides support for all aspects of HDT's core focus areas. Michelle holds a teaching license in Elementary Education from Bemidji State University.  She has worked with children of all ages in one capacity or another for many years, most recently as a daycare provider in her home.  Before doing daycare, Michelle worked as an Educational Assistant at Forestview Middle School in Brainerd, and then at Pequot Lakes Middle School in their Alternative Education program. Raised in Breezy Point, Michelle now lives just out of Pine River with her husband, Dan, and their daughters, Kate and Beth.

Jim was hired as the Food and Water Security Coordinator in February of 2011. This role includes working with the garden staff designing and managing the food production grounds on the HDT Campus and furthering local food education and awareness. Jim has an A.A.S. degree in Natural Resource Management from Central Lakes College and has completed other coursework including a Certificate Course in Ecosystem Silviculture from the University of MN, Permaculture design, agroforestry, horticulture, and landscaping. Jim served as a technician for the Crow Wing Soil and Water Conservation District for ten years. Duties there included drafting Forest Stewardship Plans for private land owners, implementation of the MN Wetland Conservation Act and the National Pollutant Elimination Discharge System, and design and installation of water quality improvement projects. He is an active member of the Sustainable Farming Association of Central Minnesota and the Northwoods Forestry Cooperative.
Jim and his wife Audra own and operate Island Lake Farm, a 107-acre diversified farm and forestry operation near Deerwood, MN. Jim is living the dream by following his passion, caring for our natural resources to leave the earth better than he found it.

Colin was hired as the Research & Outreach Journalist in February of 2011. In this role, he manages the marketing initiatives for HDT. This includes HDT's online presence such as social networking and the numerous blogs. Colin has a BA in Political Science from Luther College and has completed some masters work at MSU-Mankato. He successfully ran a hobby shop into the ground from 2005 to 2010. His wife, Amy, and he can claim to be extremely busy with six children. However, Colin has been known to be seen time to time at local sporting events, biking on the trails, and in fact, says secretly that the MN Twins and Tampa Bay Rays are the left and right side of his heart. (But don't tell his wife and six kids that.)

Allison joined the Food & Water Security team in 2017. She brought with her an English major and biology minor from the University of Minnesota-Morris, a professional background in Human Services, and years of home gardening experience. She is a Minnesota Master Naturalist Volunteer. A desire to marry her personal ideals and her professional life lead Allison to Happy Dancing Turtle with a passion for soil health, food equity, and grassroots solutions (and the Oxford comma). Allison and her husband are free-ranging two children and a small menagerie in the woods of Aitkin County. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors in all seasons, yoga, reading, and British television.

Nora joined the Stewardship & Sustainability team in June of 2014. In 2018, she relocated to the Winona area in southeastern Minnesota, but is sitll part of our team! She is helping us spread our mission through a second HDT location - the Driftless Region. Nora has a B.S. degree in Conservation and Resource Management and is working towards her M.S. in Education. She spent her childhood split between living in the suburbs of Minneapolis and living on the east coast in New Hampshire, returning to the Midwest for college. Nora is passionate about environmental education and sharing her love of nature with the community. She has worked with children of all ages in other organizations, including Camp Olson YMCA in Longville, MN and Deep Portage Learning Center in Hackensack, MN. Nora lives with her husband, Jake, in Trempealeau, WI. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, photography, traveling, hiking, birding, canoeing (& the BWCA), and snowshoeing.
